for 7-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds.

‘Learn how to film a live multi-camera talent show’

You’ll learn how the world of live tv production works by putting on your own talent show. You’ll learn about and take on the different roles involved behind the camera including script writing, set design, directing and vision mixing, camera operating and lighting and sound operation and create and perform your own act in front of the camera to be part of the live streamed talent show.

‘directing and vision mixing’

A live show uses multi-cameras to provide different angles that the director can choose from to follow and tell the story that is happening on screen. You’ll learn how to use the vision mixer and how to use talkback to give direction to the camera operators and when to use the different shots. Everything you film and mix on the final day will make up the final talent show production that is streamed live to facebook for friends and family to see so it’s important you know when to cut and when not to!

‘You’re going live in…’

Live streaming is now big business and we’ll show you how different platforms work and what different live streaming equipment we use to get a live stream setup and scheduled for a production. It will be down to you to make sure everyone in the studio and at home knows when we’re live. You’ll also be engaging with the audience at home to get them interacting in the talent contest.

5 Day Summer Live TV Production Workshop

This workshop is a practical introduction to live web TV production and live streaming. It provides the understanding and skills required to produce a live talent show which will be live streamed to facebook on the final day of the workshop. The workshop is limited to 20 places and we will work with the group to prepare a talent show with each child creating an individual or team act as well as learn to film, direct and deliver the live stream to facebook.

Each child can invite two people to the venue to watch the live production on the final day with further family and friends invited to watch the live stream online via a private facebook group.

I have been working in broadcast and corporate video production for over 14 years. I worked as an Interactive TV Producer for channels like Quiz TV, Quiz Nation and Sit Up TV learning and developing my experience in live television production and working with presenters. Over the last few years I have primarily worked in live events handling complete live or on-demand production through West Coast Films for events like CityWeek, The Brexit Summit, AI Summit, Women In Finance Summit and the Supply Chain and Logics Conference. I want to take my knowledge and pass it on to a new generation through the online filmmaking and live Production workshops we’re creating at West Coast Films.
